Desert Quest

Bring back the rain.

A classic pixel JRPG. The djinn Sirocco has swallowed the rain, and the oasis of Zahra is turning to dust. Gather a party, cross the dunes, and take it back.

Thanks for making this. Looking forward to whatever's next.

Ten out of ten for atmosphere.

I'd play a whole game just of the fishing minigame in the oasis.

Saved right before the temple, came back a week later, password still worked. Nice.

The writing is funny in a quiet way. The shopkeeper who only sells sand had me laughing.

Ending felt a bit rushed but I still smiled.

That sunset over the dunes in the opening is gorgeous.

My kid and I played this together over the weekend. She named the lizard Pebble.

The boss in the dry riverbed took me five tries. Worth it.

Really nice that it runs instantly, no install.

The map could use a marker for where you are, I got turned around in the ruins.

This is exactly the kind of game I hoped to find here.

Loved the little lizard that follows you around after chapter two.

Please add a way to copy the password, typing 30 characters on a phone is rough.

The battles are simple but the timing on the counter move makes them fun.

Beat it twice. Second time I found the hidden shrine behind the waterfall that isn't a waterfall yet.

Tip: the blue cactus fruit heals more than the potions and it's free.

I didn't expect a story about a drought to hit this hard.

The old woman at the oasis has the best lines in the game.

Small bug: if you open the menu during the camel ride the music stops. Didn't break anything though.

Played it on my phone on the train and the controls worked fine.

Would love a sequel set in the mountains.

Really charming pixel art. The heat shimmer on the dunes is a nice touch.

Grinding a little before the sandworm helped a lot. Level 9 felt right.

Desert Quest
Desert Quest

For a hundred days, no rain has fallen on the kingdom of Sahra. The wells give only mud, the dunes creep closer every night, and the old elder of Zahra dreams of a djinn as tall as a sandstorm, drinking the clouds.

Take up your scimitar, find the scholar who vanished into Scorpion Cave, and follow the trail of the stolen rain from the caravan market of Kesh to the tomb of a pharaoh who refuses to die.

A battle against the King Scorpion
